Good job there BC. Just to make sure, you're talking about speckled perch aka crappie, not trout right? Have you ever gotten any trout or reds in Black Creek? Is the water brakish or fresh? I haven't done any freshwater fishing in years but would like to sometime.

Its usually prety fresh unless its a drought year. Have caught a few reds near the mouth where it goes into the St Johns and a few trout and flouder . Last year or year before , forget, had a dead baby tarpon and ladyfish at my dock when it got real cold. Yes speckled perch, crappie. Caught a few nice big slabs yesterday and a shad, don't often catch a shad here either.

Ok, I know folks are going to laugh, but what's a shad? I've heard the term before, thought it was bait.

Good to see your still tearing em up! I can honestly say this is the worst speck season I've ever had. All my normal haunts haven't produced jack this year.
Hit up Blackcreek last sat. and saw some guys fishing the bridge, so I decided to and got nothing, shot back in the creek to the rr bridge and got a couple warmouth then shot over to Durbin and got nothing...
How deep are u fishing?
I'll be out in Black Creek tomorrow, I'll report if I catch any.

Hey Billy, I am fishing about 6 to 8 ft deep. I anchor near the edge where it drops from about 6 ft to 24 ft and put out 4 poles and wait. Its been real slow for me too but been picking up a nice mess most afternoonsthe last couple of weeks. Usually you just sit but when they come by usually get 2 or 3 then wait for the next school. I live on the first canal on the left before you get to the railroad bridge. Its the first bunch of houses you come to on the south side of the creek. I anchor just outside the canal and fish that drop. PATIENCE LOL Good luck man good to hear from you.

Hey Mark was not sure what kind of shad. Wasn't as deep bodied as a american shad I don't think and not as big, probably 1 1/2 lbs. Think maybe a hickory shad not sure but was thinking if it was March I would have feed him to a big bucket mouth bass no doubt.

Appreciate the info! Didn't get out yesterday but I'm rigging up the crappie gear and am heading out today. It's gonna be a nasty ride to black creek! I'm gonna try that spot and shoot down your canal, these days I'm riding out in a green Sprint Bass Boat so if you see me hollar! Glad the site is back up, thanks Mark!

I don't usualy go on the weekends to many boats and skiers. Looks like today was a bad day to be running down the river, pretty windy here most of the day.

Your not kidding. I've never seen so many wakeboaders in my whole life! It made it almost impossible to fish. I did however get on em for the first time this year. Check out my report.
