Fished every afternoon, Specks have slowed this week.Had 8 Wed, 10 Thurs and only 4 Fri. Got another nice shad, great fighters, thought about maybe trying to troll for them some next week. Specks have been getting smaller, lots of throwbacks.

Agree that Shad (presume they were Hickory Shad) are good fighters--blv they're in the Tarpon family. Catch them in NC in Creeks & Rivers in Feb/Mar on small Shad Darts or small Silver spoons. Awful bony to eat though.

Thought maybe they went to look for a bed and tried some old bedding places but they were not there yet, oh well. I used to see those shad darts but have not seen them in a long time. I was just going to try to catch some for fun wasn't going to try to eat em.Know they have those y bones in them. Wish I had had my camera, they were long fish and real blue on top. Caught one in Ga. bream fishing one day and they guy I was with said it was a hickory shad.
