The site is being migrated to a new server and data center beginning today. This move will put us on brand new hardware that is much more powerful than the current servers. The new servers will have dual quad core processors, RAID 10 drives that are built for a server environment, 8GB memory, and plenty of disk space. The move to the new data center will give us faster connectivity.

The only downside is that until the DNS change propagates throughout the entire Internet, some visitors might hit the old website on the old server. It usually takes 1 to 3 hours for the DNS change to take effect; however, small ISPs can take up to 24 hours. Therefore, during that period if someone adds a forum post on the old server that data will not show up on the migrated site. There is no way to sync what is now two separate databases. So, if you made a forum post and then suddenly do not see it a day or so later, it does not mean the post was deleted, only that you probably were on the old server and not the new. If this happens please repost.

I will let everyone know when the process is complete. Thanks.

Mark
