Launched Gheenoe at Sisters this am to catch the high tide. Using a red/white Top Dog, I landed 6 trout and one blue. After the top bite waned I fished jigs and mud minnows. Caught two more trout, one flounder, and three 17" reds. Just before leaving, I landed a 29" red on ultralight tackle (what a ball). All in all, a good day and home by 11 am. Beak

Joe, thanks but no pictures this time. I really didn't think I would have such a good day. I have been out of commission for the past two years and just wanted to wet a line before my upcoming surgery Friday (I'll be out for another 6-8 weeks according to the Doc). I will be back though, and may sneak out tomorrow and try the surf at Hanna Park. Beak

Great report! I'll be tossing topwaters tomorrow morning in the Nassau area. I hope to do as well as you. I went a couple weeks ago but got skunked and lost a Catch 2k. Hope all is well for your surgery.

Thanks Mark, hope you do well. Do you ever try around Alligator Cut when you are in the sound? Great shell bars and some deep holes on the outside bends. I've done very well in the sound in the past (before, when you wouldn't see another boat - not that way anymore though). Still plenty of places to fish. You might try the shoreline across from the Nassau river entrance - lots of good feeder creeks there. Beak

I didn't get to go. I pulled my back yet again and laid around the house with ice packs and meds. I'm not sure I know what you're talking about regarding Alligator Cut. I do know where Alligator Creek is north of the sound off Amelia river and comes back into Christopher Creek / Nassau River. Are you speaking of the cut adjacent to Bird Island. If so, yes, and I screwed up and stayed about 5 minutes longer than I should have. Ended up surf fishing for a while. A long while actually.

How did surgery go?

Sorry to hear you had physical difficulties Mark. Hope you recover soon. Surgery went well, but Doc says NO activity for a minimum of 6 weeks (probably 8). Yes, I was referring to Alligator Creek (always called it Cut, as it puts you back on ICW North). Get well. Beak

Feeling much better today. Usually my chiropractor fixes me up pretty quick. Few years ago my regular doc was talking possible surgery. Nope, let me try a chiropractor first. Though it goes out now and then I would much rather get adjustments than go under the knife. I have some co-workers that have had surgery and still have problems.
