Went fishing for the 1st time in 2 months Sunday. Got a late start, getting in the water around 2:30 or so.. Fishing was on fire, me and a buddy caught over 30 fish in 3hours. Mostly rat reds, mixed in with some 14" trout and a few smallish flounder. The final keep was 1 slab of a red (fat23"er with 7 or 8 spots)and 3 flounder 14-15"ers. We were catching so many fish that we missed our window of getting out of that shallow creek and had to wait past dark for the tide to roll back in!

Way to go man! guess I got to do something different this freshwater stuff has been realy bad for me. Glad you had a great day.

Good report. I can't say I've never been stuck at low tide and having to wait for it to come back in. Were at least able to fish while you waited? It gets pretty boring if you can't do anything for several hours.

Just curious, were you fishing artificial or live bait?

Mud minnows and shrimp,with the shrimp being the tastier of the 2. We stayed and fished till dark, but the bite had turned off, we got stuck 4 times and had to wait for more water to come in on the way out, and my buddy likes to talk alot (I just wanted to get home). All in all it was still worth the trip!

At least it was worth the trip.
