I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way to catch Sea Trout is. I catch a lot of weakfish on dead shrimp but never spotter trout. Any suggestions on what bait or baits to use. I am open to suggestions, live or fake. One other question, when do the shrimp start running?

My favorite bait is live finger mullet but have caught them on just about everything. I like the mullet it takes a lot of small fish agravation away but sometimes they just want a live shrimp. All kinds of lures work well depends on where and when but jigheads with plastic tails are a good all around bait most places. If they are feeding on something try to give em what they want.

Do you get the finger mullet from a bait shop, or do you catch them. If so where do you catch them?

I always net them, usually near where i am fishing in shallow water, around creek mouths is usaually a good place.
